Telugu Language Day (29/8/12)

As a moment of pride, the Telugu students of Orchids – The International School, showed their identity in the morning assembly. The students started off their presentation by performing a small skit. The audience were then greeted with a dance performed by the girls of Class V. This was followed by a rhyme in Telugu that was recited by the students of Class I. A few jokes were shared by some students of Class IX.
The programmes was anchored by Sri Brahmi of Class IX and ended with a speech by Sanjana of Class X who spoke of the origin, development and the need for preserving the Telugu language that has been called the ‘Italian of the East’.
Everyone enjoyed the assembly which had the right amount of humour. Many felt that it was one of the best assemblies of the year.
